A 'preferred supplier'
We have recently been granted PS status at one of this planet's most successful consulting businesses. We'd love to tell you more - but the confidentiality agreement says 'no!' |
 |
Winning the pitch!
This summer we were invited by a brilliantly creative design agency - to whom we'd been recommended by another client - to partner them in a pitch to a major pharma company. We knew we were competing against agencies already on the approved suppliers list but felt we could make a real difference by improving the quality and value of the website content to visitors. Anyway we were delighted to hear recently that our pitch had been successful. Work on the two new sites for patients and doctors - has begun. |
 |
Marketing communications
Our association with one of the world's leading pharmaco consultancy businesses continues to deepen and we were very pleased when we were asked to undertake a new B2B project for their EMEA Marketing Director. A further two-page flyer followed which described our client's unique capabilities in the Consumer Health market.
We also attended a series of client forums to help the communications team produce follow-up documentation for delegates and penned articles about the new PPRS, Primary Care Organisations and medicines adherence.

And finally?
An existing client asked for our help in launching a new website by the end of the week were we up to the challenge of producing the copy they asked. Well, yes we were! The company's new site was launched on time to promote their new training and development programme aimed at helping women, and their companies, to prepare for maternity leave and assist them on their return. For more information, see: http://www.maternityunlimited.co.uk/. |
 |
And finally?
Spring cleaning came rather late to our offices at Glenmore. On the recommendation of our wonderful web designer, Ollie Kett, we were approached by a large contract cleaning business in Ipswich at 6pm one evening. The client had read in our 'Happy Clients' section that we work to tight deadlines and wondered whether we could pen an advertorial by 8.00 the following morning. The client was so delighted with our 'sparkling' copy that she has asked us to work on a new corporate brochure for 2010. |
 |
Talking money
A client for whom we usually produce copy for hospital brochures and websites asked us if we knew anyone who could write about wealth management. We said, ?Yes, us!? Although these days we focus mainly on health, lifestyle and people David?s background in economics and accountancy means he?s also written about money matters. The ultimate client was delighted with our copy and we are looking forward to doing more for them. |
 |
Aesthetic surgery
A new client, who came via recommendations and had been impressed by our work for Nuffield Cosmetic Surgery, asked us to help them write a new brochure. Working on this was fascinating and we are both now considering what procedures we should have ourselves as our bodies succumb to age and gravity! |

Fertility clinic
Having recently completed a new website for this client our attention has shifted to the production of the next issue of their well-regarded quarterly magazine. Suzi is now undertaking research into a growing trend amongst young single, heterosexual women to choose to have a baby. |
 |
Losing weight
Regular articles by Suzi are now appearing in well-known weight-loss magazine; perhaps this explains some of the comments that have been made within David?s earshot. |

A rare site indeed
Only very occasionally does the opportunity come along to become involved in something quite extraordinary ? a project with such ambition that you?re genuinely left with the ?ooh?wow!? factor. In May we were thrilled to be invited to become part of a team of writers working on a new website - funded by a wealthy benefactor - that aims to offer patients and their carers access to first-class, dependable information about every illness that mankind has been known to suffer from. Think about that for a moment?wow indeed! |
 |
?Real stories?
A client coming under huge pressure to produce three ‘real stories’ about people facing various medical problems turned to us when their client had rejected all their earlier submissions. Just a few days later and the client was smiling once again. We were delighted to have been able to help.
If you would like to talk to us about any piece of written work for print or online media, please contact either Suzi or David on 01444-811292. |

London Women?s Clinic - new egg-sharing website
Our long-standing association with the wonderful London Women’s Clinic continues as we help them with the latest edition of Ova magazine and a new website about egg-sharing. In the early 1990s egg-sharing was a controversial idea with many critics. Today it is not only recognized in law, but is becoming more popular as a way of enabling people to afford IVF treatment whilst benefiting other women at the same time. You can find out more about the London Women’s Clinic at: www.londonwomensclinic.co.uk. |
 |
Health education
Work has also started on the first of three new websites for patients. The work has particular resonance with David as the first new website is about psoriasis. David’s father suffered badly with the condition and his cousin has recently been diagnosed with the rare psoriatic arthritis both of which we will be writing about. |
 |
Writing about pain management
We were particularly pleased when we took a call from a London based PR agency who – like ourselves – has a passion for healthcare. The assignment promised to be massive: a 12,000 word report on a vital but often overlooked healthcare topic. Work started. The brief was excellent. Then bang – two weeks in and the agency received a call from their UK based pharmaceutical client to say that the work had to stop because the US parent had recently produced a very similar piece. ‘Gee shucks!’ (or similar!) We end on a bright note though…they not only paid us for our work but paid us almost before the ink was dry on our invoice. |
 |
Writing for major pharmas
Regular visitors to our site will know that we recently pitched for a substantial piece work with a major pharma business. The good news is that the client received our pitch positively although they might also have been influenced by the endorsement we received from a rival agency tendering for the same piece of work! |

Digestive Health
Suzi has also completed a major report for a health food company around attitudes and understanding of digestive health matters amongst sufferers and the medical profession.
You can read the report in the ‘See My Work’ section of this website. |
 |
Readership survey
For the third year running David and Suzi have undertaken the employee readership survey for the corporate in-house magazine of an international manufacturing company. The assignment involved conducting around 90 telephone interviews, collating the results and preparing a report to be presented to the Board. |
 |
Writing for entrepreneurs
We have found ourselves copywriting and developing websites for a variety of other clients, which have included: new training and development programmes for executives; new investment opportunities in emerging overseas markets; innovative products for men; and even a new planning tool to help people make better choices about funeral arrangements! |
 |
Pitching in
A few weeks ago we were thrilled to receive a call from a major pharma company inviting us to pitch for a significant piece of new work to conceive, design and write patient material in a specialist area. Pulling in the services of a top creative design agency, we are about to put our ideas to the client. Win or lose, it looks as though our reputation as writers and content developers specialising in the healthcare space is gathering apace. |
 |
Zest Learning
David Jacobs? background in training and consulting again proved valuable as we worked with Zest?s energetic MD Nikki Bartlett to update and refresh their website which should be going live soon. |
 |
IMS Health
Our clients at IMS have been keeping us busy with developments in Pharma Emerging Markets, Established Brands Strategy and Incentive Compensation Schemes. David has been conducting interviews with their consultants across Europe and writing pieces for publication internally as well as in Pharma Executive Europe. |
 |
Helping out
With workaholic tendencies very much to the fore, we were delighted to be able to stand-in at short notice to help a client of another writer produce a 500 word advertorial for a well-known private hospital. We can report that everyone involved was delighted with what we produced. |
 |
Cancer Heroes - Patient Journeys
Suzi has been interviewing patients at a leading London private hospital who are undergoing non-invasive gamma knife treatments for cancers of the head and neck. Their personal and moving stories speak volumes of their courage, determination as well as their enduring faith. As Suzi says, it has been a real privilege to report their personal stories which will doubtless inspire others. |
 |
Digestive Health
Suzi has also completed a major report for a health food company around attitudes and understanding of digestive health matters amongst sufferers and the medical profession. The Report will be published shortly. |
